Instructor
Trenton Smiley is the Marketing & Communications Director at Capital Area District Libraries in Lansing, Michigan. He has an MBA in Marketing and over 20 years’ experience working for libraries. He also serves as Board Treasurer for the Library Marketing Conference Group.
His work has been featured in Marketing Library Services, Public Libraries Online, the ‘M’ Word: Marketing Libraries, OCLC’s Engaged Libraries and Information Technology and Libraries.
Trenton has earned numerous honors, including the prestigious John Cotton Dana Public Relations Award, Michigan Award of Excellence, Genesee District Library’s Black History Month Award of Excellence, and two-time winner of the Library of Michigan Foundation’s State Librarian’s Excellence Award.
