On December 14, Information School students, faculty and staff gathered at a lively reception to celebrate 38 winter graduates across all iSchool programs.
This semester, graduates included students completing the following programs:
- MA Library & Information Studies: 23 graduates
- MS Information: 7 graduates
- BA/BS Information Science: 8 graduates
The 8 Information Science students represent the second cohort of graduates since the fast-growing major’s launch in 2022.
Two new iSchool graduates include:
Dakota Dotson BS’23, who will earn his bachelor’s degree in Information Science, the rapidly growing major designed to meet increasing demand for students seeking career paths at the intersection of technology and human values. Dotson, who completed an IT Solutions internship at Schneider this past summer, is actively interviewing for roles in software and data engineering.
Harrison Phillis MA’23, who earned his MA in Library & Information Studies online. Phillis made the trek to Madison from Rock Island, IL, to celebrate the occasion. While completing his degree, Phillis worked as a special collections assistant in the library at Augustana College in Rock Island. He completed his practicum at Davenport Public Library in Iowa and is now pursuing a career in public libraries outside his lifelong home of Rock Island.
Congratulations to all of the iSchool’s winter graduates!
