Are a cap and gown attire required at the iSchool graduation celebration?

No.  If you have ordered a cap and gown for the main UW-Madison Commencement and want to wear it to the iSchool graduation, you are welcome too however the iSchool celebration is less formal. Most students, faculty and staff will be wearing other nice attire (what your guests might wear to your celebration).  For information on ordering your cap and gown for the UW Commencement ceremony, please see: https://commencement.wisc.edu.

Is there a limit to how many guests I may invite to the iSchool ceremony and/or reception?

In April of each year, all graduating students will be sent an online form asking them to RSVP themselves. It’s important to respond to this email as responses determine sufficient seating and refreshments. We will follow back with information on venue capacity once all RSVPs have been submitted, and let you know about guests.

Will parking be available?

Complimentary parking is available in almost all campus parking lots to guests during commencement weekend.  Please see the following for more information: https://deh3q06fonbca.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2021/08/2021-22-Campus-Parking-Map.pdf and https://commencement.wisc.edu/content/uploads/2019/07/Accessible-Map.jpg

Staying In Touch After Graduation

UW-Madison now allows and even encourages graduates to keep their @wisc email accounts. We encourage you to continue using your UW email account, but if you prefer to give us a different email to use for future communications please let us know.
