Information Science students share their perspectives on the major in new video

Launched in 2022, the Information Science (iSci) undergraduate major enables UW–Madison students to explore the dynamic intersections between people, data and technology. In a world increasingly transformed by technology, the lessons students learn in the iSci major are more relevant and applicable than ever. 

In a new video, three iSci students sat down to discuss their experiences and perspectives on the major. Learn a bit more about the students below, and follow the link at the bottom of this post to watch the full video.


Shona Acquaye x’25: Shona is majoring in Information Science with a Certificate in Data Science. She is also co-president of ColorStack, a student organization dedicated to increasing the number of Black, Latinx, and Indigenous students who graduate from UW–Madison and go on to thrive in technical fields related to computing, data and information.

Kevin Carroll x’26: As an Information Science and Computer Sciences Double Major, Kevin is also a part-time employee of the Information School, providing staff and faculty with invaluable IT assistance.

Madi Meyer x’25: Madi is an Information Science major with certificates in Computer Sciences, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability. She is also the founder of Design Interactive, a student organization that bridges disciplines to make design education more accessible for UW–Madison students.
